About the Role
The Rotational Development Program (RDP) at Flexport is an 18-month program designed to build operational and technical skill sets for global trade. Participants will engage in live, revenue-generating assignments and receive continuous AI/low-code curriculum alongside operational and commercial training. Graduates will be placed in roles such as Account Management, Automation Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering/Consulting, Sales Engineering, or traditional Ops/Sales/Customs tracks.
Key Responsibilities
You will rotate through three functions, six months each, with AI/low-code curriculum running continuously:
- Gateway Ops (Air or Ocean)
- Own the shipment lifecycle.
- Execute bookings, manage exceptions, and maintain data integrity to Flexport's standard.
- Build automation and reporting skills through structured coursework.
- Customs
- Become a global trade expert by navigating customs regulations to ensure goods comply with international laws.
- Engage in applied technical work including SQL, workflow automation, and Lean process improvement.
- Sales / Account Management
- Undertake go-to-market work and build client-facing skills with increasing independence.
- Capstone Project: Identify a real business problem within the current function and build the necessary tooling or process fix. Present this solution to leadership at graduation.
Program Benefits
Throughout the program, you will receive:
- Guidance from a day-to-day manager and a Rotation Program Manager, with regular evaluations.
- Certifications in AI/low-code tooling, from foundational training to capstone project completion.
- Bi-weekly cohort touchpoints and access to a standing alumni mentor community.
- Increased earning potential as program benchmarks are cleared.
Requirements & Tech Stack
This role is ideal for individuals who:
- Are on track to graduate or have recently graduated, seeking a career at the intersection of supply chain operations and technology.
- Possess genuine curiosity about AI and low-code tooling and a desire to build fluency.
- Can operate with minimal supervision, prioritize high volumes of work, and communicate clearly under pressure.
- Are eager for ownership, as the program involves live client and business work from the outset.
- Exhibit a "compliance-first" mindset due to operating in a heavily regulated industry.
