About the Role
Seyfarth Shaw LLP is seeking 2Ls to join our 2028 Summer Program as a Summer Associate in the Labor & Employment department in our Boston office. This program offers a strong educational component supported by practical learning opportunities, with dedicated mentors providing individualized feedback and coaching. Summer Associates are assigned to a specific department for the entire summer to gain deeper knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Summer Associate, you will:
- Work on actual client cases and projects.
- Attend client meetings.
- Shadow attorneys on a variety of deals and cases for hands-on learning.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Completed one year of law school by the spring of 2027.
- Expecting a JD in May 2029.
- Demonstrated academic achievement.
- An appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
- A clear interest in Labor & Employment, evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.
Qualifications
Summer Associates gain hands-on experience that builds upon their law school education through:
- A specialized training curriculum, including substantive legal seminars.
- Training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance taught by leading practitioners.
- Practical learning opportunities, such as attending depositions, court appearances, closings, and client meetings.
- Cutting-edge legal work on active cases and client projects.
Required Submission Materials: Resume, cover letter, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript (when available), and a writing sample.
Compensation: Annualized salary of $225,000.
