Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software using C++ and Python.
- Support the development and improvement of infrastructure, control systems, and backend services.
- Assist in building and maintaining APIs and RESTful services.
- Work collaboratively with software, hardware, and scientific engineering teams.
- Investigate bugs, troubleshoot technical issues, and support performance improvements.
- Contribute to software architecture, code quality, and maintainability.
- Gain experience working with containerised applications and modern deployment environments.
- Analyse system data and help identify opportunities to improve performance and operational efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established software development best practices.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Good programming knowledge of C++ and Python.
- A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
- Basic understanding of HTTP, APIs, and RESTful services.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- A willingness to learn, take initiative, and develop new technical skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
- Enthusiasm for working on complex technical challenges involving software and hardware.
- Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in quantum computing is not required.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of professional software development experience, or a relevant degree with practical programming experience.
