About the Role
As an Electrical & Electronics Technician or Mechanical Fitter, you will execute the hands-on assembly, wiring, and structural integration of flight hardware inside certified cleanrooms. You will transform engineering blueprints and wire schedules into flight-ready spacecraft, working under strict aerospace standards. Your core operational scope covers meticulous wiring, crimping, torquing, structural fitting, and hardware verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Harness & Wiring (Electrical Track): Execute high-reliability cable harness preparation, routing, hand soldering, pin crimping, and precision multi-pin connector mating on flight units.
- Structural Assembly & Torquing (Mechanical Track): Perform precision structural fitting, component mounting, calibrated torque tightening, and safety lock-wiring on spacecraft panels and chassis.
- Continuity & Basic Checkout: Conduct basic continuity, isolation, and resistance checks using digital multimeters (DMMs) to confirm wiring integrity.
- Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Handling: Set up, handle, and operate mechanical assembly fixtures, turning rigs, and handling dollies to move flight hardware safely.
- Cleanroom & ESD Compliance: Adhere strictly to cleanroom contamination controls, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols.
- Work Traveler Documentation: Accurately sign off on assembly step travelers, tool calibration logs, and torque record sheets.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Practical ability to read technical drawings, wiring lists, or mechanical exploded views.
- Hands-on proficiency with specialized trade tools: calibrated torque wrenches, wire strippers, crimp tools, soldering stations, or precision measurement gauges (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers).
- High manual dexterity, patience, and strict discipline in following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- Education: ITI in Electrician / Electronics / Wireman (for Electrical track) OR ITI in Fitter / Machinist / Mechanical (for Mechanical track).
- Experience: 0 to 5+ years.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience working on flight hardware with ISRO centers (URSC, VSSC, SAC), aerospace prime contractors, or defense systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace cabling and soldering standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum, IPC J-STD-001, or ECSS standards).
- Experience working inside certified cleanrooms (ISO Class 7/8).
- Exposure to satellite structural honeycomb panels, thermal blankets, or fluidic tubing.
