DISHWASHER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Location: Saint John Fisher University • Rochester, NY 14618

Job Summary: Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to a dishwashing machine. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polishes silver using an assigned method. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Helps load and unload supplies and product.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Full-time and part-time schedules available.
• Days may vary, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Hours: 4:30 pm to 1:00 am.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Prior dishwashing experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in an educational facility, with potential for periods of no work (e.g., winter and summer breaks) unless business needs require year-round work, potentially at a different location.

Pay Range: $16.50 per hour to $17.50 per hour.
