About the Role
- Equipment Design Engineer position at Larsen & Toubro.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate drive selection and component sizing for various equipment.
- Perform hydraulic component selection for:
- Stacker cum Reclaimers
- Wagon Tipplers Systems (Rotaside, Crescent, Tandem)
- Paddle feeders
- Twin boom stackers
- Barrel reclaimers
- Ship Loaders
- Port cranes
- Steel plant equipment
- Prepare technical specifications for vendor items including:
- Gearboxes
- Geared motors
- Couplings
- Brakes
- Hydraulics
- Winch systems
- Wire ropes
- Operator cabins
- Electric hoists
- Hydraulic jacks
- Belt conveyor components (idlers, pulleys, belts, scrapers)
- Perform FEA analysis using Nastran/Ansys for static structural designs and buckling designs of different equipment.
- Prepare fabrication drawings and bill of material for the specified equipment.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Inventor
- ACAD
- MS Office
- Nastran/Ansys (for FEA analysis)
- STAAD analysis (preferred)
- EDEM software (for material flow analysis & Parametric modelling) (added advantage)

- Hands-on experience working on:
- Stacker Reclaimers
- Wagon Tipplers
- Side Arm Chargers
- Paddle Feeders
- Port Equipment
- Steel plant equipment
- or any other equipment
