SQL Developer Intern, Entry Level

SkillzenLoop is hiring SQL Developer Interns for freshers and entry-level candidates who enjoy working with data stored in databases. This internship focuses on practical SQL work: writing queries, designing small tables, improving slow queries, and preparing clean data extracts for reports. This role suits candidates who want to build a career in SQL development, database development, data engineering, or reporting.

Role Overview

As a SQL Developer Intern, you will work on structured database assignments under the guidance of experienced team members. You will learn how professional teams write reliable queries, organize data in well-designed tables, and keep reports accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Write SQL queries using joins, subqueries, aggregations, and window functions
• Create views and stored procedures for tasks the team repeats
• Design small, well-structured tables with proper keys and relationships
• Find slow queries and improve them using indexes and better query design
• Prepare clean data extracts for reporting and analytics teams
• Check data for duplicates, missing values, and inconsistencies
• Work with PostgreSQL or MySQL on practice and project databases
• Document table structures and queries so others can reuse them

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong SQL basics (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, HAVING, subqueries)
• Working knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
• Understanding of primary keys, foreign keys, and normalization
• Logical, structured thinking
• Habit of double-checking query results before sharing them
• A laptop and a stable internet connection for remote work

Qualifications

• Freshers, entry-level candidates, or students pursuing or completing B.Tech, B.E., BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT), MCA, B.Com, or any degree with strong SQL skills
• Self-taught learners who can show their skills through practice projects or certificates
• Candidates interested in databases, reporting, and data work
• Candidates available to work full-time for the internship period

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Knowledge of indexes and query execution plans
• Basic Excel or Python skills
• A SQL practice profile on HackerRank or LeetCode, or a database project
