F&B Cashier

Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Host is responsible for being the friendly face of the organization, providing excellent customer service and creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The main goal is to provide a positive experience for both guests and team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure that the establishment runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with dining room, service, and kitchen staff to track orders, monetary situations, and charges.
• Validate methods of payment, complete transactions, provide documentation and receipts, and dispense accurate change.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure correct and adequate change is available.
• Scan items, ensure pricing accuracy or resolve discrepancies, and process payments via cash, credit card, check, or gift card.
• Clean and organize the checkout area; stock receipt paper and other stationery.
• Maintain accurate tabs on every restaurant table’s order using the venue’s primary POS system.
• Answer customer questions and find a manager if an issue is not resolved.
• Ensure all orders leaving the kitchen meet presentation standards and guest requests.
• Review orders for accuracy and build plates according to specifications and presentation, ensuring proper garnishing and food quality standards are met.
• Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through the work area throughout the shift.
• Maintain constant communication with and to the team.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, including department-specific training on equipment and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and sanitized work area.
• Keep service station stocked with items such as ice, plates, napkins, garnishes, toppings, and serving utensils.
• Inform wait staff of kitchen wait times and product shortages.
• Learn Front of House material such as table numbers and server sections.
• Bag to-go orders for guests.
• Meet special guest requests while ensuring high-quality standards.
• Attend and participate in briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Six months of fast food service or restaurant service experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25-50 pounds.
• Virginia Racing Commission License.
• Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.

• Employee may be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Employee is subjected to circulate throughout the assigned areas, including the smoking area, actively observing players and functioning of machines.
