Daytime Team Member

About the Role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals for a Daytime Team Member position in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• A friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills are a big plus).
• Ability to manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Illinois Applicants: Must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Availability for morning and day shifts ranging from 8am-4pm. (Availability within this window is required, not necessarily the entire time).

Compensation

• Earn between $13.75 and $14.25 plus digital tips.
