About the Role
- Work on the cloud backend that communicates with edge devices, cameras, dashboards, and mobile apps.
- Develop async APIs, data pipelines, real-time video plumbing, and deployments for a multi-tenant system.
- The system supports multiple client organizations, each with multiple factory sites, running on the same platform, deployed in the cloud and on-premise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build async REST APIs with FastAPI and async SQLAlchemy on PostgreSQL.
- Build and maintain multi-tenant APIs with proper scoping for organization, site, and user permissions.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, write migrations, and optimize queries for growing data volumes.
- Work on real-time systems using Redis for caching and queues, WebSockets for live updates, and go2rtc for camera stream relay.
- Handle camera streams on the backend: RTSP feeds, ffmpeg for remuxing and clipping, and serving video to web and mobile clients.
- Write tests and maintain the testing pipeline for safe production deployments.
- Containerize and deploy services on AWS, manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, and package the platform for on-premise client deployments.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong Python, including async programming (asyncio, async/await, concurrent I/O).
- Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, joins, transactions, and query optimization.
- Experience building or working with multi-tenant APIs.
- Experience writing tests and working with a testing pipeline (pytest, CI).
- Familiarity with Redis, WebSockets, go2rtc, and sandboxing tools like gVisor.
- Working knowledge of AWS and Terraform.
- Camera and video basics like RTSP and ffmpeg are strongly preferred.
Bonus Experience
- Using Docker and Terraform for on-premise deployments.
- Prior work with edge devices or microcontrollers.
- Experience with multi-tenancy security (tenant isolation, access control, data separation).
Eligibility
- Students or recent graduates from CS, IT, ECE, EE, ME, and related branches.
- Ability to commit 6 months full-time.
- Must be able to come to the Gurgaon office 3 days a week.
Internship Duration: 6 months, full-time
Conversion: Pre-placement offer (PPO) based on performance
Location: Gurgaon (hybrid, 3 days a week in office)
