Assets Recovery Paralegal

About the Role

Wise is a global technology company focused on simplifying international money movement for individuals and businesses. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Asset Recovery Junior Paralegal to manage a high volume of recovery cases. This role offers the opportunity to work towards greater independence on routine matters and have an immediate impact on our team's capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage recovery cases from start to end, including:
• Registering each case in internal systems.
• Assessing debtor profiles.
• Preparing notifications for the Legal team or external partners.
• Support the wider Legal team with side projects as needed.
• Suggest process improvements to reduce future financial losses.
• Work with stakeholders to help reduce future financial losses.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Technologically adept, with a strong aptitude for quickly learning and mastering complex internal systems, case management software, and collaboration tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• A proactive, "get-it-done" attitude.
• Collaborative mindset focused on teamwork and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English.
• Good understanding of debt collection processes and cycles, preferably with exposure to the US.

Nice to Have:

• Fluency in other languages.
• A legal qualification or a law degree in the US or other jurisdiction.
• Litigation experience with debt collections matters in the US, specifically consumer-related in the payments services industry.
• Experience working with debt collection in the US or other jurisdictions.
