About the Role

Environmental Worker, Full Time, 3pm-11:30pm at Jackson Health System. Performs moderate to heavy manual work housekeeping tasks in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and wet washes floors daily.
• Cleans assigned patient and non-patient care areas.
• Collects and transports trash, cleans, and relines trash containers.
• Fills soap, paper towels, and toilet paper dispensers.
• Empties sharp boxes.
• Places gowns in designated storage areas.
• Defrosts and cleans assigned refrigerators on a bi-weekly schedule.
• Dusts all counter tops and shelves (inside/outside) and wipes cabinets daily.
• Completes cleaning of discharge patient units as vacancies occur.
• Monitors the delivery of laundry for assigned units daily.
• Utilizes detergents, disinfectants, polishes, finishes, etc., in accordance with established guidelines.
• Cleans all isolates, warmers, IMED pumps, monitors, bill lights, and other related equipment after patient discharge.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
• Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is strongly preferred.
• Non-licensed worker.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

• Job functions require extended walking or standing.
• Must be able to climb stairs/ladder, stoop, bend, crawl, and perform repetitive motions.
• Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices.
• Function requires visual acuity to perform job-related activities.

Environmental Conditions

• Fast-paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
• May involve working outdoors, exposure to potential hazards, extreme weather, high temperatures, noisy or dusty areas, and confined spaces.
