School Custodial Cleaner

About the Role

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment. This role is suitable for individuals entering the workforce or returning with limited experience and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors.
• Empty trash receptacles as needed.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about needed repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces like woodwork and stainless steel.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment for cleaning.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors.
• Perform incidental seasonal tasks such as sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow.
• Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms.
• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience (preferred).
