Work You'll Do

Perform quality assessment of applications developed using modern web technologies such as ASP.net and Angular. You will use hands-on quality engineering combining practical manual testing with AI-assisted testing to help the team expand reliable automation and reusable QA assets and capabilities. Working as a collaborative peer, you will partner with QA colleagues, developers, and product leads to improve testability, accelerate feedback, and ensure deliverables meet business requirements and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on functional, exploratory, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for assigned applications.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot reliable UI automation using Playwright and an appropriate programming language.
  • Identify stable, repeatable manual scenarios suitable for automation and convert them into maintainable automated tests.
  • Build reusable QA assets such as test-data utilities, API helpers, fixtures, reporting tools, templates, and environment checks.
  • Contribute automated tests to CI/CD pipelines and investigate flaky tests, test failures, and pipeline issues.
  • Perform API testing and create automated service-level checks where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with developers and product leads to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria, improve testability, investigate defects, and validate fixes.
  • Own defined testing workstreams, including planning, execution, defect management, evidence, reporting, and release-readiness inputs.
  • Pair with QA colleagues to convert repeatable manual tests into automation and share engineering practices through working sessions, examples, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Contribute to repository structure, automation standards, quality metrics, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Prototype small AI-assisted QA utilities or agents, such as test-scenario generation, defect summarization, test-data preparation, or failure triage, using approved tools and appropriate human review.
  • Support releases, participate in Agile ceremonies, and communicate progress, risks, defects, dependencies, and quality outcomes clearly.
  • Continue to apply manual and exploratory testing where automation is not suitable or where human judgment provides greater value.

A Successful Candidate Should

  • Be a hands-on practitioner who is comfortable moving between thoughtful manual testing, automation code, and defect investigation.
  • Enjoy pairing with colleagues and sharing knowledge without relying on formal authority.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and a practical learning mindset toward new automation, engineering, and AI-assisted testing approaches.
  • Write and communicate clearly with QA colleagues, developers, product leads, project teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Be proactive, analytical, and comfortable challenging issues constructively using evidence.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and a practical approach to prioritising quality risks.
  • Be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage assigned work across locations and time zones.
  • Explain technical issues and trade-offs clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Two to five years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or quality engineering.
  • Strong foundation in manual testing, including functional, exploratory, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining UI automation using Playwright.
  • Working programming ability in C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with the ability to write clear, modular, and maintainable test code. Knowledge of other languages such as Python would be advantageous.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using tools or code-based frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Git, branching, pull requests, and code-review practices.
  • Ability to diagnose failures using logs, traces, screenshots, network requests, application behaviour, and test evidence.
  • Understanding of test design, defect management, quality risk, SDLC, STLC, and Agile delivery.
  • Preferred: Experience integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps.
  • Preferred: Experience creating reusable test utilities, fixtures, test-data generators, mocks, stubs, or reporting components.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with BDD, contract testing, accessibility testing, performance testing, or regression testing.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Preferred: Exposure to AI-assisted development or testing tools, with an understanding of validation, security, privacy, traceability, and human-review requirements.
  • Preferred: Evidence of learning through practical projects, prototypes, internal accelerators, or open-source contributions.
