About the Role

The AI Solutions & Value MBA Intern will join Ingredion’s AI for Business Excellence (AIBE) team. This role is focused on identifying, designing, valuing, and delivering AI and agentic solutions to drive digital transformation across the enterprise. The intern will translate business problems into AI solutions, quantify value, shape the design of workflows, and help steward solutions from concept through implementation. This role partners with business, technology, and functional leaders to prioritize opportunities, build business cases, and support solution design and configuration. The intern will gain exposure to enterprise AI strategy, governance, and value conversion.

Location: Westchester, IL / Bridgewater, NJ

Workplace type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build agentic AI solutions by framing business problems and prototyping agent-based workflows using platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, agent-builder tooling, and others.
  • Assess and quantify project value by developing business cases and ROI models for AI initiatives, sizing benefits across cost reduction, revenue generation, and working-capital improvement, and supporting prioritization within the AI portfolio.
  • Support AI implementation and adoption by helping to translate designs into deployed solutions, coordinating across technical and business stakeholders to pilot, test, and scale, and to track realized value against the business case.
  • Translate requirements into solution designs by partnering with functional teams to convert business needs into clear AI/agentic solution specifications.
  • Shape governance and best practices by contributing to standards, intake templates, and stage-gate controls for how AI projects are proposed, valued, approved, and delivered.
  • Communicate to executives by synthesizing analysis into executive-ready recommendations and presentations, explaining AI concepts, trade-offs, and value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Scan the market by researching emerging AI/agentic capabilities, tools, and vendor offerings, and assessing their applicability and differentiation for Ingredion’s use cases.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Progression toward an MBA, currently enrolled and completing the program (between the first and second year of study).
  • Strong business problem-solving skills: structured problem framing, hypothesis-driven analysis, and the ability to move from ambiguity to a clear, prioritized solution.
  • Financial and analytical acumen: comfort building business cases, ROI/value models, and prioritization frameworks.
  • Genuine interest in applied AI and agentic solutions, with an understanding of how generative AI and autonomous agents can be applied to enterprise processes.
  • Technical fluency is a strong plus, including hands-on exposure to tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, agentic frameworks, MCP, and Power Automate, and/or familiarity with data and analytics concepts (SQL, Python, cloud platforms). Deep engineering experience is not required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and present to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, managing multiple workstreams to deadlines.
  • Prior experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, product, technology, or a related field is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA degree program, between the first and second year of study (returning to complete the degree following the internship).
