About the Role
The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is focused on building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. Our vision is to achieve fully automated, zero-touch AWS deployments, reducing time-to-market for new features and allowing engineers to concentrate on building new services. This role involves close collaboration with AWS service teams and offers significant visibility to leadership, opportunities for learning, and the chance to solve complex engineering problems with impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate EC2 control-plane services, fleet health automation, and capacity tooling across air-gapped cloud environments.
- Own features end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment to disconnected regions, and production operation, with on-call responsibilities.
- Improve monitoring, alarming, and deployment safety for owned services and address operational gaps.
- Collaborate with partner teams and stakeholders across air-gapped partitions to deliver shared infrastructure.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Utilize generative artificial intelligence tools and techniques to enhance automation, code quality, and team productivity.
- Investigate customer issues, analyze metric trends, and develop innovative approaches to automate operational processes.
- Provide automation and scripting support.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Associate's degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Experience with automation tools (building, testing, releasing, or monitoring).
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and proficiency in Python scripting language.
- Experience with highly concurrent, high throughput systems and complex distributed systems.
- The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level.
- Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
