- Gain exposure to PLC- and SCADA-based control systems used in water and wastewater facilities.
- Assist with control system architecture and industrial communication network designs.
- Support the preparation of engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and field investigations.
- Assist with construction support, commissioning, and startup activities as needed.
- Learn industry standards, engineering best practices, and quality processes.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university program and returning to school following the internship.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Ideally, you will also have
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Exposure to PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial automation, or process controls through coursework, projects, or previous internships.
- Interest in municipal infrastructure, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and industrial process systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or plans to pursue EIT after graduation.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
- Forward-thinking mindset with a desire to contribute innovative ideas.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
