Systems Administrator
Referment is working with a global investment and technology organisation to hire a Systems Administrator for its enterprise technology team. You’ll combine user support with infrastructure administration and project work across a mixed Windows and Linux environment. This role suits a resourceful technologist who enjoys solving unfamiliar problems, improving how systems are managed, and helping colleagues use technology effectively. The environment spans desktops, servers, mobile devices, storage, clustered computing and communications platforms.
The Role
- Troubleshoot complex issues across PCs, servers, mobile devices and communications infrastructure.
- Administer hardware, software and infrastructure-level systems across Windows and UNIX/Linux environments.
- Support users by phone, remotely and in person, including in a time-sensitive professional environment.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements that make support and administration more efficient.
- Use independent research, prior experience and careful analysis to resolve unfamiliar technical problems.
What We're Looking For
- Practical familiarity with systems administration, including hardware and software management and end-user support.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows enterprise environments and standard productivity applications.
- A genuine interest in both building technology and helping people use it well.
- Strong research, analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Evidence of curiosity, sound judgement and achievement through academic or professional work.
This could suit an early-career systems administrator, infrastructure support engineer or technically strong support specialist who wants broader exposure to enterprise platforms and automation.
