Associate, Data Analyst

About the Role

Monotype is seeking a sharp, investigative Data Analyst to ensure company and contact data is accurate, complete, and reliable. This role involves researching, verifying, and enriching records, assessing data sources for trustworthiness, and participating in workflow automation projects to improve data maintenance efficiency and consistency. Ideal for individuals who enjoy understanding company structures, identifying inconsistencies, and diagnosing the root causes of data problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve duplicates, outdated records, conflicting information, and incorrect account-contact relationships in Salesforce and connected systems.
• Research and verify company information, including legal names, parent/subsidiary relationships, locations, industries, domains, and firmographic details.
• Build and maintain accurate account hierarchies reflecting company organization, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, rebrands, and regional entities.
• Utilize a mix of sources (company websites, public filings, business databases, third-party providers) to confirm and supplement missing information, evaluating for reliability.
• Adhere to and contribute to improving data standards, naming conventions, and research guidelines.
• Ask clarifying questions to understand the underlying need of a request.
• Contribute to automation projects in Syncari, Slack, and AI tools to streamline research, enrichment, matching, and data maintenance.
• Share knowledge of data problems to help shape automation requirements and identify edge cases.
• Test workflows, review outputs for accuracy, and report issues.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience with Salesforce.
• Familiarity with Syncari, Slack, and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT).
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Comfort with repetitive work where accuracy is crucial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in data research, data operations, sales operations, or a similar role. Internships and relevant projects are counted.
• Solid understanding of company structures, including parent companies, subsidiaries, legal entities, divisions, brands, and the impact of mergers and acquisitions.
• Basic understanding of AI tools like ChatGPT.
• Good judgment regarding source credibility and data quality.
• Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies.
• Aptitude for investigating problems, narrowing down causes, and proposing solutions.
