About the Role
TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program out of our Ann Arbor, MI Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2027 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
- Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation.
- Mix of field and office assignments including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, construction inspections, contractor oversight, data management, figure preparations, and basic reporting.
- Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, due diligence inspections, etc.
- Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for government, commercial, and industrial properties as needed.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
- Support data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
- Support with regulatory requirements.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Pursuing Masters, Bachelors or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time Management, willingness to take on new things.
- Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow.
- Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, Mathcad, ESRI, Hydro Cad, Water Cad, ArcView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required.
- OSHA 40-hour safety or 30-hour OSHA safety training is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.
- Project work is based in Michigan; however, overnight stay is occasionally necessary depending on the field work.
- Office work will be mostly in the Ann Arbor office, with the occasional opportunity to flex remote work depending on the workflow.
Compensation: USD $20.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
