About the Role
This position will be located at Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems Sector in Clearfield, UT. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Operations organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize data from business systems to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to develop daily work plans, minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
- Analyze shop floor data and develop metrics for daily performance management, i.e. daily earns, efficiency, WIP, cost and schedule.
- Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving, impactful solutions.
- Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Production Operations.
- Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and implement cost-saving solutions.
Requirements & Tech Stack
Associate Industrial Engineer
- Completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by May 2027.
- Majoring in or having majored in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Industrial Engineer
- Completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by May 2027 OR completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by May 2027 and 2 years of Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing environment experience.
- Majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
- Majoring in or has majored in Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to apply basic Industrial Engineering principles.
- Experience with Excel, including macros, data modeling, and pivot tables.
- Experience with database coding using SQL, Python, Power BI.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Active Government Security clearance.
