About the Role
The SAIC Corporate Finance Department is seeking a student intern for the summer of 2027. This internship offers real-world finance experience with an organization focused on advancing technology and innovation. Interns will work with senior leaders, contribute to corporate finance responsibilities and projects, and gain valuable work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to SEC financial reporting and government contracting compliance requirements.
- Perform data analysis and reporting on key performance indicators and operational trends.
- Conduct financial modeling using MS Office Excel.
- Analyze selected financial statements and prepare reconciliations.
- Assist with daily cash position reports, monthly bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Support preparation of tax returns and other special tax projects.
- Participate in quarterly forecasting planning and analysis.
- Assist in market evaluation and consideration of acquisition candidates.
- Develop budgets (spend plans) for assigned programs and perform financial analysis on funding profiles and program financial variances.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint (formulas, analytics, effective data presentation).
- MS Office Excel
- Microsoft Powerpoint
Qualifications
- High School and 3+ years of college coursework at an accredited university, majoring or having completed coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- US Citizenship Required.
- Adaptable; duties, responsibilities, and requirements may change over time and according to the project’s needs.
- Ability to work independently while utilizing team guidance.
- Recent teamwork/leadership role.
- Prior related work experience is also considered.
