About the Role
FinBox is seeking an Intern - Software Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced technologies in the financial services space.
Key Responsibilities
- Start with scoped tickets and grow to owning features end-to-end.
- Work on lending journeys, including multi-step borrower flows.
- Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards for lenders and internal teams.
- Implement user management features, including roles, permissions, and access control.
- Understand the domain of loan application to disbursement and the impact of regulation on UI.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- React: Deep understanding of component re-rendering, state management, hooks, props, and lifted state.
- Platform Technologies: TypeScript, JavaScript, semantic HTML, CSS, and the DOM.
- Web Fundamentals: Understanding of request tracing from browser to server (DNS, HTTP, APIs), status codes, headers, cookies, CORS, caching, and the event loop.
- AI Usage: Ability to break down tickets, provide context to AI agents, set acceptance criteria, and verify AI output. Customer data and secrets are not to be shared in prompts.
- Debugging: First-principles debugging using DevTools, the network tab, and stack traces.
- Version Control: Git and GitHub, including branches, rebases, conflict resolution, and pull requests.
- Product Sense: Ownership and questioning of tickets, considering the borrower's perspective, and owning shipped features, including edge cases. Ability to work with incomplete information and seek mentorship for direction.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the software development lifecycle.
- Real code contributions to open source projects or significant personal projects.
- Basic knowledge of backend and database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
