About the Role
We are hiring a Medical Coding Specialist Intern for a 1 to 3-month full-time remote role. This position focuses on auditing health records, analyzing clinical procedures, assigning standardized diagnostic and treatment codes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electronic medical records, operative reports, and discharge summaries for clinical accuracy.
- Assign and sequence accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes.
- Verify medical necessity and support claims documentation to minimize billing discrepancies.
- Maintain adherence to official coding guidelines, regulatory compliance, and patient data confidentiality.
- Track, log, and audit daily coded records using Microsoft Excel and healthcare management portals.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Degree or diploma in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharmacy, or related healthcare fields (Freshers welcome).
- Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Formal coursework or certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent training is an asset).
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Dedicated laptop or desktop computer with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Compensation & Details
- Stipend: ₹14,000 – ₹15,000 per month
- Duration: 1 to 3 Months
- Work Mode: Remote (India)
- Certificate: Internship completion certificate upon successful project delivery.
