About the Role

Owting is seeking a Community Growth & Partnerships lead to help launch and grow active communities in key local markets and campuses. This role is focused on solving the local "cold start" problem: helping Owting build enough user activity, local partnerships, events, and community momentum for the app to feel useful and engaging in a specific city or neighborhood. You will work closely with the product and marketing teams to improve user acquisition, engagement, and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and activate local communities, organizations, groups, and event partners.
  • Support local outreach, partnership, and grassroots growth campaigns.
  • Help coordinate community events, activations, and promotional initiatives.
  • Track user acquisition, engagement, retention, and community activity metrics.
  • Turn data and user feedback into clear action plans.
  • Communicate with users, partners, and internal team members.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen Owting’s brand presence in local markets.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Strong communication skills and ability to represent Owting professionally.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort reviewing data, metrics, and user behavior.
  • Foundational sales, outreach, partnership, or business development skills.
  • Basic project management skills, including organization, follow-through, and timeline management.
  • Interest in community building, local events, social apps, or social impact.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with social apps, online communities, event platforms, or grassroots marketing is a plus.
  • Experience or coursework in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred but not required.
