Legal Intern

About the Role

The Legal Intern will assist advocates and team members in legal research, case law analysis, and preparation of legal opinions and briefs. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring consistent presence at the Chambers and, when necessary, at courts and tribunals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in legal research, case law analysis, and preparation of legal opinions and briefs.
• Draft and review legal documents.
• Compile case files.
• Support the team in litigation and advisory matters across areas such as tax law, corporate law, constitutional law, and regulatory compliance.
• Observe court proceedings.
• Assist in client meetings under supervision.
• Help in maintaining organized documentation and matter tracking.

Qualifications

• Ongoing or completed legal education (LLB or equivalent).
• Ability to handle legal consulting tasks, including basic advisory support under supervision.
• Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing pleadings, contracts, and opinions.
• Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with team members and clients.
• Capability to identify, understand, and analyze legal issues across multiple practice areas.
• Excellent research skills, attention to detail, and ability to synthesize complex information.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
• Comfort with using legal databases, productivity tools, and basic office software.
