Grocery Clerk/Stocker

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Grocery Clerk is to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Smile, greet, and be courteous to customers.
• Work with management and all other associates to provide a high level of customer service.
• Maintain stock and rotation of merchandise in the grocery area.
• Perform other functions as required in other departments of the store.
• Observe all store rules and company policies.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress regulations.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service.
• Observe shift operating hours at all times as scheduled by department manager.
• Pay attention to details while stocking shelves, organize and build displays, help unload shipments and keep stockroom well organized.
• Display merchandise in an attractive, appealing, and neat manner.
• Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and state and local health regulations on an ongoing basis.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Excellent communication and customer skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to exert or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and exert or lift negligible amounts of weight often.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience preferred but not required.
