About the Role
We are looking for a Data Analyst - Supply Chain to analyze supply chain data and drive decisions. This role involves maintaining and analyzing the Material Delivery Plan, modeling demand, stock, and lead times, and identifying potential shortages. You will collaborate with planners, buyers, and the supplier quality team to use data to demonstrate effectiveness. This position is suited for a mathematician looking to apply rigorous analytical skills to real-world scenarios and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Material Delivery Plan with the right material, in the right quantity, at the right time.
- Track planned orders against need dates and flag gaps early.
- Calculate safety stock and reorder points, and monitor stock and excess.
- Run the shortage report, rank shortages by production impact, and support recovery with purchasing and suppliers.
- Keep master data accurate: lead times, units of measure, order multiples, and BOM revisions.
- Build demand, supply, and capacity scenarios to support planning decisions.
- Analyze supply chain KPIs such as lead-time trends, on-time delivery, stock turns, and supplier defect rates.
- Build dashboards and reports to provide leadership with a clear view of material status.
- Document methods, models, and findings.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics: probability, distributions, regression, and basic optimization.
- Strong Excel: lookups, pivots, and clean data handling across large item lists.
- Ability to track and maintain planned orders with quantities and need dates.
- Ability to calculate and maintain safety stock and reorder points from demand and lead-time data.
- Ability to build a shortage report and rank shortages by production impact.
- Discipline with master data: correct lead times, units of measure, order multiples, and BOM revisions.
- Clear communication of numbers to non-technical teams through simple tables and charts.
Preferred Skills
- Demand and supply planning: balancing demand, supply, and capacity across a horizon, including scenario plans.
- Continuous improvement: data-driven retrospective analysis to improve processes.
- Programming for data analysis in Python, R, or SQL.
- Dashboarding tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Interest in aerospace, defence, or drone (UAS) technology is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Internship, project, or coursework in data analysis, statistics, or operations research is a plus.
