About the Role
- You're the first engineer on a new bet, operating with the autonomy and ownership of a technical co-founder.
- You'll work hand in hand with Triplespeed's founders and leadership on what to build, who it's for, and how it makes money.
- You'll get the backing of a company that has already scaled multiple consumer products: capital, distribution, growth, design, and operations support, without the overhead of raising money.
- If the vertical works, you grow with it as it scales and, like our other brands, potentially becomes an independent company.
Key Responsibilities
- Zero to one: Turn early ideas into working products fast. Prototype, ship, learn from real users, and iterate weekly.
- Own the stack: Make the core technical decisions on architecture, infrastructure, tooling, and vendors, and build most of v1 yourself across frontend, backend, mobile, and data.
- Find revenue: Work with leadership on positioning, pricing, payments, and growth loops. Instrument everything and let the numbers decide what to build next.
- Use AI as leverage: Build with LLMs and AI tooling wherever they make the product better or the team faster.
- Build the team: As the vertical grows, help hire and lead the engineers who join after you, and set the engineering culture and quality bar.
- Run it like an owner: Balance speed with reliability, keep costs sane, and take responsibility for uptime, security, and the customer experience.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- A track record of building and shipping products end to end, ideally something you took from zero to real users or revenue (a startup, side project, or new product line).
- Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals. You're comfortable owning everything from the database to the UI.
- Product sense and commercial instinct: you care about what users want and how the product makes money, not just the code.
- Comfort with ambiguity. You can start from a blank page, make sensible calls with incomplete information, and change course quickly.
- A high bar for speed and quality, and the judgment to know when each matters more.
- Clear communication and the ability to work directly with founders and senior leaders.
Bonus Points
- You've founded a company or been an early engineer at a startup.
- Experience with consumer apps, subscriptions, payments, or e-commerce.
- Experience building with LLMs and AI agents in production.
- Mobile experience (React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin).
Why Triplespeed
- Founder-level ownership of a new vertical, with the resources of a proven, profitable company behind you.
- Direct access to leadership and a small, fast team that ships.
- Highly competitive compensation, with meaningful upside tied to the success of what you build.
- Full-time, 5 days in office.
