About Prequel

Prequel is building family trust through stories that show what students can do when school works differently. We are a group of education brands that help the world's most ambitious kids learn 21st-century life skills by building projects with real-world feedback and impact. Through entrepreneurship and world-class mentors, Prequel helps middle and high school students build critical life skills not taught in school. We believe that the best way to learn anything is through entrepreneurship. We take teens from potential to progress. We believe that society underestimates what ambitious teens can achieve. Starting now, teens can find what they're passionate about and accelerate their careers by getting hands-on experience - instead of waiting to "grow up.”

About the Role

This is an early-career role with unusual ownership. You will spend time in schools, interview students and families, turn raw moments into strong content, and use performance data to decide what comes next. This role exists so Prequel earns more awareness, trust, engagement, and qualified family demand through high-performing organic content. You will use AI for research, drafting, editing, repurposing, search content, and workflow design, but you will not publish machine-written noise. Your job is to protect accuracy, voice, and story while increasing output. One strong source story should become a set of useful assets across Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, search, and other channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create platform-native organic content for Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and related channels, including hooks, scripts, captions, carousels, and short-form videos.
  • Interview students and families in person at Prequel schools, then turn raw conversations into clear, consented stories with strong proof points.
  • Shoot, assemble, edit, and package lightweight photo and video assets using accessible tools.
  • Use AI tools to research, draft, edit, repurpose, and quality-check content packages across multiple channels.
  • Review social and search performance data, then apply the learning to the next content cycle.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Scheduling prewritten posts without owning the concept, story, creative, or performance.
  • Running paid media campaigns, ad buying, bid optimization, or paid acquisition reporting.
  • Producing strategy decks that never become shipped content.
  • Acting as the primary brand designer, creative director, or commercial film crew.
  • Publishing unreviewed AI output, repetitive caption variants, or keyword-stuffed articles.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • AI tools for research, drafting, editing, repurposing, and quality-checking content.
  • Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and other related channels.
  • Accessible tools for photo and video editing.

Qualifications

  • Portfolio with at least 5 examples of self-created social, video, written, or campaign content.
  • Evidence of owning content for a real audience, such as a college club, student organization, internship, side project, creator account, or small business.
  • Ability to independently concept, film, edit, and package short-form video.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, shown through clear audience-specific work samples.
  • Must already be based in Arizona.
  • Must be eligible for Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance.
  • Ability to travel regularly to school locations in Arizona and Texas.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Recent bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, media, business, education, or a related field.
  • Experience turning interviews into concise written, photo, or video stories.
  • Experience using content metrics such as watch time, saves, shares, comments, profile visits, or inquiries to improve future work.
  • Exposure to search-optimized writing, programmatic SEO, or editorial review of AI-generated articles.
  • Experience building prompts, templates, or lightweight automations for content production.

Working with Us

  • This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position.
  • The position is immediately available.
  • Requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
  • Compensation: $30 USD/hour, equating to $60,000 USD/year.
  • Payment period is weekly.
