Application Engineer

About the Role

Emerson is seeking an Application Engineer in McKinney, TX. This position will provide technical engineering support to sales channels and manufacturing sites in Mexico, focusing on products within the regulator product portfolio in the Pressure Management (PRM) business unit. Periodic support for other global sites may be required. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering a world-class customer experience. This is a customer-facing role involving technical support, improvement projects, and presentations. You will collaborate with Regional Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Engineering functions and manage your workload for timely and accurate results.

Key Responsibilities

• Function as a liaison between the sales channel and internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Engineering).
• Cultivate effective customer and sales channel relationships, and partner with collaborators.
• Provide technical assistance to the sales channel concerning product applicability and installation practices.
• Analyze common product problems and communicate solutions.
• Evaluate engineered to order (ETO) and made to order (MTO) solutions, including quotation submittal and quoted price point.
• Define product modifications and communicate them back to appropriate channels.
• Develop and conduct product training for diverse audiences.
• Prepare technical papers, participate in trade shows, and visit customer sites.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams and promote shared consciousness.
• Promote customer awareness among all employees.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication of technical concepts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals at all levels.
• Ability and desire to Travel Domestically and Internationally (up to 25%).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in a customer-facing, service-related, inside sales, or technical sales role.
• Bilingual – English & Spanish.
• Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering (Preferred).
• Relevant engineering work or Internship/Co-op experience (Preferred).
