About the Role
Network Engineer L2
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial triage for high priority incident tickets (P2 tickets) which may have an impact across one or more processes.
- Resolve priority incident (P3) tickets within defined SLAs.
- Create logs of incidents and document observations and related root causes, to support in evaluation of mitigation measures.
- Fulfill software/hardware/network service requests within agreed timelines, ensuring timely completion and adherence to SLAs while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Monitor SLA timelines for the entire lifecycle of high priority incident tickets (P2 tickets).
- Escalate as needed and participate in weekly or monthly service review meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Create change requests as per the priority of incident tickets, in adherence with defined guidelines.
- Present changes for approval with rollback plans in change approval meetings.
- Execute approved changes and document post-implementation outcomes.
- Analyze the nature of incidents to support root cause analysis and related service improvement plans.
- Contribute towards the development of mitigation actions to reduce repeat incidents by identifying patterns of issues noted.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Sound knowledge of Routing & Switching.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with Fortinet UTM Boxes.
- Experience in environments with SD WAN (Fortinet).
- Experience with HP Switches.
- Experience with VLANs and routing tables (e.g., BGP, VRRP, link aggregation).
- Experience with LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi.
- Expertise in Fortinet Boxes and HP Switches is preferred.
- Ability to follow up with Vendors and drive issues.
- Good understanding of SD WAN Technology (Fortinet).
- Experience with IP-Sec and policy creation.
- Network Data Admin skills.
Qualifications
- Fortinet working knowledge.
- OEM Certification (e.g., HP/Fortinet) is an added advantage.
- CCNA / CCNP is desired.
