About the Role
The AWS Security Incident Response team is seeking a Security Engineer to safeguard the AWS infrastructure utilized by national security customers. This role involves working within AWS GovCloud and U.S. Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions, addressing incident response and specialized security needs for government clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security telemetry, triage, and investigate alerts in GovCloud and U.S. ADC regions.
- Support incident response lifecycle from detection through containment, eradication, recovery, and after-action review.
- Perform log analysis and assist with forensic investigations.
- Develop and enhance scripts, detections, and tools to improve team efficiency and scale.
- Document findings and communicate them clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Participate in a regular on-call rotation.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to think critically under pressure, adopting both attacker and defender perspectives.
- U.S. Citizen required.
- Must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Experience with AWS products and services (Preferred).
- Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl) (Preferred).
- Experience with incident response, log analysis, or security operations (Preferred).
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above, OR GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler), OR GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials), OR Security+.
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
