Cashier

About the Role

The Cashier is the smiling face at the register, guiding the Nando’s experience. This role involves accurately managing transactions, balancing the register, and providing expert menu guidance to customers. Cashiers are expected to be quick, efficient, warm, and gracious, working with the team to exceed guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately manage cash and credit card transactions.
• Balance the register at the end of the shift.
• Act as a menu expert, guiding customer selection.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the register.
• Work with the team to exceed guest expectations and provide the Nando’s experience.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Commitment to quality service.
• Food and beverage knowledge.
• Knowledge and comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Basic English language and professional communication skills.
• Hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to perform reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting overhead.

Physical Requirements

• Able to independently lift to 15lbs for an extended period.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs with food items and dishes throughout the shift.
• Must be able to walk and/or stand for 8-10 hours per day.
