Key Responsibilities
- Build features end-to-end that users will utilize.
- Own a full module, including decision-making on its functionality.
- Fix bugs, ranging from simple to complex issues.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, product discussions, and documentation.
- Implement a "ship small, ship often" approach with minimal disruptions.
Technical Skills & Concepts
You don't need to be a professional in all areas, but should be comfortable encountering them:
- Node.js: Experience building a backend or API; comfortable with asynchronous operations.
- Postgres: Ability to write queries and understand the importance of indexes.
- Redis: Familiarity with use cases like caching, sessions, and rate limiting.
- OAuth: Understanding of its role in authentication flows (e.g., "Login with Google").
- Problem Solving: Aptitude for tackling and resolving complex issues.
Fundamental Knowledge
- Operating Systems: Understanding of processes, threads, and memory management.
- Databases: Knowledge of transactions, indexing, and query performance.
- Networking: Familiarity with HTTP, TCP, and DNS.
- Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA): Sufficient knowledge to select appropriate tools for tasks.
