About the Role
A Data Scientist at Flipkart is required to develop and implement ML or statistical models for projects derived from business and product perspectives. The role involves communicating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders from various teams to understand problems. A fundamental aspect of this role is diving deep into problem statements to extract insights and solutions. This position also expects active participation in research projects with the aim of publication, alongside being a quick learner.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business and product needs and use ML or statistical techniques to provide timely solutions.
- Communicate and collaborate with business and product teams to gain a better understanding of projects and drive them within the Data Science team.
- Engage in in-depth exploration of solutions using various methods and extract statistical insights from data and models for sharing with business and product teams.
- Actively participate in working with new methods and learning new technologies in data science and data engineering.
Qualifications
- B.Tech or M.Tech in CS or Statistics with experience demonstrated through publications, deployed solutions, or projects.
- Deep understanding of algorithms (theory and application) that have been worked on.
- Good grasp of the theory and practice of basic statistical models such as regression or clustering, and general ML algorithms such as tree, Random Forests, SVM, Boosting, Neural Networks, etc.
- Strong proficiency in Python or R.
