About the Role

MongoDB is seeking a Financial Analyst, AI & Emerging Products to join the Product & Technology (P&T) FP&A team. This role involves financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and partnering with the business to drive decision-making and resource planning. The analyst will contribute to evaluating, planning, executing, and measuring strategic business initiatives.

This is a hybrid in-office/remote role based in the New York City office. The ideal candidate is an adaptable self-starter who can work comfortably and communicate clearly with stakeholders, progress tasks independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Establish positive relationships and become a trusted partner for P&T stakeholders, understanding business drivers and aligning with company objectives.
  • Forecast Coordination & Modeling: Build and maintain financial and operating models for budget planning, including headcount planning and optimization.
  • Analyzing: Conduct ad-hoc analyses and build financial models to guide leaders on operating strategies, resource allocation, and product initiative investments.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Improve and scale business, operational, and financial processes, including standardizing and automating reports and enhancing internal system utilization.
  • Perform financial month-end close activities such as headcount reconciliations, accrual reviews, and budget vs. actuals analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with recruiting and HR to drive efficiencies in workforce planning and reporting.
  • Prepare schedules and relevant analysis for each planning cycle, developing clear support for management review.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Bachelor’s Degree; finance, business, or economics preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in FP&A, and/or analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Financial planning tools (Pigment) are a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Confidence to forge strong relationships with business partners; prior business partnering experience preferred, within a tech company a plus.
  • Drive for results and a sense of urgency with the capacity to multitask and prioritize.
  • Highly organized with rigorous attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
