About the Role
- Limited Service Employee (LSE) internship in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cyber Security.
- Support the Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) IT/OT Cybersecurity team at the Savannah River Site (SRS).
- Perform meaningful work in support of the SRMC organization.
- Internship duration: 10-12 weeks, May 2027 - July 2027.
- Assignments located in SRMC facilities in Aiken, SC.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in cyber operations.
- Engage in compliance activities.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives.
- Assist with vulnerability management projects.
- Support risk assessment projects.
- Assist with security monitoring and alert review activities.
- Participate in vulnerability scanning and analysis.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Full-time student enrolled at an accredited four-year university.
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related major.
- Must have completed their Sophomore year.
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts of networks, servers, applications, and security requirements.
- Familiarity with common security tools and frameworks.
- Ability to learn new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
- Ability to solve problems.
Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Must pass General Employment Training (GET).
- Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Creativity and innovation.
Additional Information
- Housing is not provided.
- Responsible for own transportation.
- 40-hour work week, set by individual departments.
- Interns will be paid a competitive hourly rate ($20.00/Hr. Compensation will be determined by approved calendar year government rates).
- No summer interns will be assigned to shift work.
- Overtime is not available.
- Interns will be paid for site holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th) as applicable.
- A valid Driver’s License, Registration, and proof of automobile insurance are required for driving on the Savannah River Site.

- Selected applicants will be contacted by February or March 2027.
- Additional information (SRMC employment application, references, official transcripts) will be requested from selected candidates.
- Selected candidates will be assigned to SRS General Employee Training and Drug and Alcohol test appointments before badging and commencement of assignment.
