Software Engineer Intern

About the Role

Wayfair is seeking Software Engineer Interns with an AI-First & GenAI focus. Interns will join teams across various departments, including Search & Recommendations Tech, Storefront Tech, Supply Chain Retail Tech, Marketing Technology, ML Platforms and Infrastructure, and Global Supplier Tech. The role involves developing applications, web services, and data systems that leverage Generative AI and machine learning to enhance customer experience, drive intelligent discovery, personalize shopping journeys, and improve interactions for millions of users. This includes embedding GenAI across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop applications, web services, and data systems.
• Leverage Generative AI and machine learning to redefine customer experience.

• Embed GenAI across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Familiarity with full-stack development, mobile development, or cloud development.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Python.
• Enthusiasm for leveraging GenAI tools.
• Ability to build high-quality software by integrating AI-assisted tools and GenAI workflows throughout the development lifecycle (design, code generation, automated testing, deployment).
• Strong autonomy.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the 7th semester of a full-time B.E./B.Tech program in Computer Science.
• Available for internship during their 8th semester.
• Strong academic track record.
• Passion for emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and software engineering.
