Data Engineer internship

About the Role

This is a full-time Data Engineer internship role based in Bengaluru, structured as a hybrid position. The intern will assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to support analytics and reporting across financial, legal, and software solution domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with ETL processes.
• Support data modeling and data warehousing activities.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements.
• Optimize data flows.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational skills in Data Engineering and experience or coursework related to building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Understanding of Data Modeling concepts and ability to design or interpret data structures for analytics and reporting.
• Knowledge of Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including basic experience with ETL tools or scripting for data extraction and transformation.
• Exposure to Data Warehousing principles and familiarity with organizing data for scalable storage and retrieval.
• Basic Data Analytics skills, including working with datasets to derive insights using SQL or analytical tools.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python, Java, or Scala) and strong SQL skills.
• Comfort working with relational databases.
• Ideally, exposure to cloud data platforms or big data technologies.
• Strong analytical thinking.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
