About the Role

The Staff Auditor is responsible for engaging in audit projects to assess the adequacy of internal controls, both in their design and application. This role also involves conducting and/or assisting in corporate investigations, ad-hoc special projects, external auditor assistance activities, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements. The role requires completion of projects covering Alight's global operations with a moderate level of independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in operational, compliance, and financial audits evaluating the adequacy of controls for key business processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of assigned areas under review, including processes, risks, and controls.
• Accurately and completely document processes.
• Complete audit test procedures, maintaining appropriate testing documentation to support audit results.
• Identify potential audit findings, draw conclusions, assess audit results, and develop recommendations.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to the Audit Project Manager.
• Perform follow-ups on remediation activities agreed with management resulting from audits/SOX controls testing.
• Work independently and with initiative to complete audit assignments; may have a supervisory role in some assignments.
• Deliver oral and written presentations to management throughout and at the conclusion of examinations, discussing process and control deficiencies, recommending corrective actions, and other suggestions for improvements in operations and/or reductions in costs.
• Provide assistance to external auditors during their interim and annual reviews of the company, as required.
• As a global resource, participate in assignments as needed by the broader Assurance and Risk Management department.
