About the Role
The Article Trainee will support the team in day-to-day accounting, auditing, taxation, and GST-related assignments. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and review of financial statements, working papers, tax returns, and compliance documentation under various statutes.
- Conduct basic research on regulatory requirements.
- Assist with client communication and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and working files.
- Support in corporate consultancy projects and management reporting.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping practices.
- Basic understanding of taxation laws, GST provisions, and regulatory compliance in India.
- Comfort with auditing procedures, documentation, and working under professional standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn accounting and tax software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a professional, client-focused attitude.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Kolkata, manage deadlines, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Enrollment in or completion of CA/CS/CMA or related professional course, or a commerce/finance degree, is preferred.
