About the Role
You will be a Principal Engineer (PMTS) leading the Monitoring Cloud Events team in Hyderabad, India. This role involves guiding the team, building great software, and owning services from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain an Observability stack using in-house, open source, and cloud managed services.
- Run data pipelines (ETL) and use big data tools.
- Monitor system health and resolve problems to ensure services stay online.
- Mentor and teach other engineers.
- Collaborate with partners and customers globally.
- Improve cloud performance, security, and usability.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Cloud & Compute: AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- Edge Ingestion: OpenTelemetry (OTel), Vector/Fluent Bit
- Message Buffering: Apache Kafka
- Stream Processing: Apache Flink
- Backend Languages: Java, Go, Python
- Ad-Hoc OLAP Analytics: Apache Druid
- Log & Trace Storage: ClickHouse, AWS S3 / GCP Cloud Storage
- Time-Series Metrics: VictoriaMetrics, M3DB, or Prometheus
- Visualization & Alerting: Grafana, Apache Superset, Prometheus Alertmanager
Qualifications
- Deep experience building software and leading engineering teams.
- Proficiency in moving, storing, and working with very large amounts of data.
- High skill in building ETL data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with open-source tools like Kafka, Flink, and Apache Druid.
- Experience as a helpful mentor to other engineers.
- Strong service owner mentality, focused on system uptime and smooth operation.
Even Better If:
- Experience with an Observability stack.
- Experience working with global teams across different countries and time zones.
- Experience interacting directly with customers.
