Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) Intern

About the Role

Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) work at the intersection of product, engineering, and the customer. As an FDE Intern, you will work closely with senior FDEs, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to translate clearly defined customer requirements into working product configurations, data setups, tested workflows, and technical solutions. You will also work directly with Indian MSMEs to support platform deployments, configure and build custom workflows, troubleshoot real-world issues, and solve last-mile engineering challenges that help customers use the product effectively in their day-to-day operations.

What You Will Do

• Deployment & Value Delivery: Set up the platform for new clients, ensuring their data is structured and migrated correctly for immediate use.
• Workflow Logic Design: Use internal low-code tools to design custom approval flows that mirror the real-world operations of clients.
• Rapid Feedback Loop: Identify edge cases during client interactions and collaborate with the core engineering team to ship fixes immediately.
• Technical Solutioning: Write scripts to automate manual data entry or generate reports. Hack together quick solutions to solve client problems.
• Testing & Validation: Test configured workflows, reproduce issues, document expected vs. actual behavior, support UAT activities, and validate fixes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Core Technical Skills: Strong logical reasoning and proficiency in at least one major programming language.
• Comfortable writing queries to extract and manipulate data.
• Ability to map messy, real-world business processes into a logical flow chart or algorithm.
• Willingness to visit client sites when needed.
• Comfortable talking to users who may not be tech-savvy.
• Resilience: Able to work directly with customers without being intimidated by non-technical or changing situations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain observations clearly to senior FDEs and Engineering.
• Strong ownership and follow-through.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Final year student or recent graduate (B.E./B.Tech) from a reputed college with strong academic credentials.

Mentorship & Experience

• Work directly with the Founder and core team.
• Exposure to SaaS deployments, customer environments, and production problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience with workflows, data, APIs, testing, troubleshooting, and technical solutioning.
• High-performing interns will be considered for full-time offers.
