Founding Engineer Intern (AI/ML), India

Role Description

This remote internship focuses on building and experimenting with AI/ML tools that support workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting and cleaning engineering and simulation data.
• Developing and training machine learning models.
• Implementing algorithms for design optimization and prediction.
• Collaborating with senior engineers to translate thermal engineering requirements into AI solutions.
• Prototyping new features.
• Implementing workflows.
• Documenting models, experiments, and results.
• Researching state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques relevant to engineering applications.
• Contributing to early product and infrastructure decisions as part of a founding technical team.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong foundation in AI/ML concepts (supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, basic statistics).
• Proficiency in programming for data and ML (e.g., Python).
• Experience with common ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Ability to work with data pipelines (data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering, visualization).
• Understanding of numerical methods, basic physics, or engineering principles.
• Exposure to thermal/fluid dynamics or CFD is a plus.
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
• Clear technical documentation and communication.

Qualifications

• Completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

Compensation

• Paid internship for 3 months (stipend).
• Post 3 months: Further steps based on performance and ownership (compensation revision / extended role / full-time path).
