About the Role
Volcano is a cloud for apps built with coding agents. You tell Claude Code, Cursor or Codex what you want, and it sets up the database, auth, functions, storage, realtime and deploys on Volcano without a trip through a dashboard. Volcano was designed from the ground up for agents. The company launched publicly in September 2026. Volcano is incubated by Kong and runs as its own company with its own brand. This role sits between engineering and the developers Volcano builds for. You'll build on Volcano, demonstrate its capabilities, and relay learnings back to the product team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Volcano Cookbook: create recipes for building real apps on Volcano using existing developer tools, documenting code, decisions, and potential issues.
- Build one-step deployable templates and examples.
- Create video content, including YouTube videos, streams, and short demos.
- Run Volcano hackathons, participate in others, and identify valuable sponsorships.
- Collaborate with companies whose tools are featured in recipes for joint content.
- Engage with developers in communities such as Discord, X, and GitHub to gather feedback and share insights with the team.
- Develop tooling and workflows to enable a small team to publish more content without compromising quality.
- Act as "customer zero," identifying and reporting rough edges to engineers.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Built things in public within the last year, with demonstrable shipping and communication of those efforts.
- Experience with 0-to-1 work (e.g., starting a company, joining an early-stage startup, launching a product from scratch).
- Technical proficiency with coding agents. Ability to build a working app with Claude Code or similar, debug it, and explain the process.
- Strong writing skills, with an ability to discern AI-generated content quality.
- Enjoy explaining concepts to various audiences (in-person, camera, online discussions).
- Trusted by engineers for technical accuracy.
Bonus Points
- Existing developer audience.
- Hackathon organizing experience.
- Experience with developer platforms such as Vercel, Supabase, Neon, or Cloudflare.
