Intern, Data Analytics

About the Role

United Airlines India Knowledge Center is seeking an Intern for Data Analytics. This role supports the Customer Strategy & Innovation department by gathering data, conducting analyses, verifying reports, and assisting with ad-hoc decision support.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract and analyze data from relational databases and reporting systems.
• Proactively identify problems and opportunities, performing root cause analysis/diagnosis leading to business impact.
• Identify issues, create hypotheses, and translate data into meaningful insights; present recommendations to key decision makers.
• Develop and maintain reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
• Build predictive models and analyze results for dissemination of insights to leadership of numerous operations groups.
• Prepare presentations that summarize data and help facilitate decision-making for business partners and senior leadership.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong interest in data analytics and problem-solving.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and manipulating data.
• Experience with Teradata, MS SQL Server, or Databricks is a plus.
• Exposure to at least one programming language for analysis – Python preferred.
• Awareness or prior experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn continuously.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills – written and spoken English.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is expected throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship.
