About the Role

Veritus is a Y-Combinator-backed AI startup in financial services. We are seeking an Operations Associate to help run the company from the inside, reporting to the COO. This role offers autonomy, room to grow, and a clear path to a Chief of Staff role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the San Francisco office: manage supplies, vendors, budgets, mail, guests, and facilities.
  • Manage the leadership team's operating cadence: schedule meetings and offsites, track OKRs, and follow up on action items.
  • Prepare recurring company materials, including weekly All Hands slides and KPI reporting.
  • Own and execute operational projects for the COO.
  • Schedule all candidate interviews.
  • Coordinate new hire setup, including desk, office access, welcome basket, and first-week schedule.
  • Support company offsites, internal team events, and business events.
  • Coordinate business travel for the team.
  • Assist with invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, budgets, and expense tracking.
  • Develop and document repeatable processes, including turning manual workflows into AI-assisted processes.
  • Handle new and unexpected tasks.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Experience in an operations, office management, or project coordination role.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of ownership.
  • Eloquent communication (written and in-person): concise, accurate, and polished.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Humble, eager to learn, and ready to grow.
  • Positive attitude and sense of humor.
  • Proficiency with AI tools daily, alongside Google Workspace and Slack.
  • Experience in an early-stage startup, vendor or facilities management, AI agents or no-code automations, or in fintech or another regulated industry is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Thrives on driving high impact across a company with care for every task.
  • Energized by learning how an early-stage startup operates.
  • Relentlessly positive and a pillar of company culture.
  • Enjoys an entrepreneurial, AI-first environment.
  • Execution expert, able to keep dozens of open items on track independently.
  • Comfortable coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Takes pride in building repeatable, AI-assisted processes.
  • Scrappy, relentless problem-solver who measures success by outcomes.
  • Brings rigor and a sense of humor.
