AI Engineer Intern, Gen AI and Data

About the Role

At DeepIQ, we are building a Data + AI Ops platform for multi-modal data. Our platform helps some of the world’s largest enterprises generate insights from telemetric (OT), geospatial and structured data. Our team brings together expertise in cloud computing, machine learning and building enterprise software. We are looking for an AI Engineer Intern who enjoys solving problems, writing Python code and building practical AI applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers on data pipelines, backend services and applications powered by large language models.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Python components for AI applications, data processing and backend services.
• Help build data pipelines to ingest, clean, transform and integrate structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate LLM APIs, such as OpenAI and Azure OpenAI, for document processing, information extraction, question answering and workflow automation.
• Support RAG and Agentic RAG applications, including document ingestion, chunking, embedding generation and retrieval.
• Help develop AI agents and multi-agent workflows using frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experiment with semantic search, hybrid search and reranking using vector stores such as ChromaDB, Qdrant, Pinecone or FAISS.
• Build backend components and RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Django.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and caching systems such as Redis.
• Write tests, debug issues and participate in code reviews using Git and GitHub.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools while reviewing and validating generated code.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Good programming skills in Python, with an understanding of data structures, algorithms and time and space complexity.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, relational databases and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with data processing concepts and building workflows that move or transform data.
• Foundational understanding of LLMs, embeddings and RAG, with exposure to an LLM API through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication and a willingness to learn.

Good to Have:

• A project involving an AI application, document question-answering system, AI agent or data pipeline.
• Exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or similar AI development frameworks.
• Familiarity with Django, PostgreSQL, Redis or vector databases such as ChromaDB.
• Understanding of semantic search, hybrid search, caching or workflow orchestration.
