The Role
Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand their problems and design/implement solutions using data. Customers rely on Palantir's platforms for critical operations, and projects often begin with open-ended questions. As an FDSE, you will apply problem-solving ability, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations drive real impact with their data. You will gain insight into and contribute to important industries and institutions.
FDSE responsibilities resemble those of a startup CTO. You will work in small teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects. Your day may involve discussing architecture, wrangling large-scale data, coding custom web applications, communicating with customer executives, or establishing team strategy.
Palantir is positioned as a place to learn how to unpack problems, understand solution costs and consequences, learn and develop new technologies and languages, work autonomously, and make decisions independently within a supportive community.
